Icom IC-705 - A special thanks to Ray Novak, N9JA, for showing us the new QRP DSTAR rig that was the show special at Orlando Hamcation this year. This rig will (hopefully) be released in April of this year and will include HF/VHF/UHF All Mode, including DSTAR. Definitely a "shack in a box" radio!

This is going to be HOT HIT! Expect radios in US in May/July time scale, at under $1200 USD. That's what the tea leaves are showing ;-)

Remember, this is a QRP+ radio, 10W max.

Overall, it's going to be a great rig, for the QRP people.

It was great to get a Hands-on feel, It's going to be very portable.

The one thing that they have not announced is the total current draw, on RX I don't expect it to be much.
The Spectrum scope and everything feels like a 7300, Which is excellent.

Will it have a built in soundcard like the 7300...I don't see any videos that mention this..

It has the same functions as the 7300/9700.

Look for the Tokyo ham fair press release.

I think the pendulum has swung past center on this, it's going to be difficult to find a rig, from the major manufacturers, that doesn't include a sound card.
