It would relieve me of all that extra weight in my wallet.
Go trucking. Get all the wallet weighing you can stand.
Nor in lower Fairfield County CT
I better get a Platinum card then LOL
My wallet would be lighter. That could be a benefit.
There is a bright side to everything.
That's true in many high tax states. But it's VOLUNTARY. You can move to a lower tax state.
Similarly, if the FCC does indeed start charging fees (again) those fees will be voluntary. You can leave the "Service" if it's of no value to you.
And for those that are completely inactive who hold a license that do not use it and subsequently leave, No one will miss them. I know I won't.
And many have.....
Well, that's not what voluntary means. The tax would be compulsory, meaning there is no easy way out of it.
Sure it is. No one is forcing people to obtain an Amateur Radio license. It will be a fee charged to obtain the license similar to the license you get to drive a car....or the fees charged by a Volunteer Examiner. I haven't heard anyone whining about those fees. How is this different?
You don't have to pay them either, unless it's worth it to take the test.
