How to mate a Yaesu 450D to a ACOM 600S amp.

    I am an old guy new at the hobby and have a question. I have a Yaesu FT-450D and have a chance to buy a ACOM 600S amp. My problem is how do I wire them, I can buy a cable to key the amp, but I want to be able to have the amp tuned to frequency by the radio and not have to do it manually. I cannot find any info on how to do it with a FT-450D. If someone has done this please tell me how.

    With that particular amplifier, you don't need a CAT interface to control the amplifier band selection: It has a built-in frequency counter and detection circuit, and as soon as you transmit, it knows what band you're on and selects that band automatically.

    Thanks I downloaded the manual for the Amp, after I read your post looks like I can use a CAT cable or I don't have too.
