If you sound like a female everyone wants to talk to you. o_O

Which is the creepy fact of ham radio. Why is that? o_O

Could (should) devote an entire thread to this reality. ;)

Why is that? Any female under about any circumstance interests males.

Yes, that is a given. But...
Because on ham radio it comes across as lecherous, that's why.
At least that's how it sounds. Or have you never heard a gaggle of old men fighting with each other for a chance to talk to a female on the air?

At one of our radio club meetings a year or so ago a nice looking woman showed up with her 14 year old son. She was probably between 35 and 40 years old and nicely dressed. Her Son had recently obtained his technician license and she wanted to bring him to the club to be exposed to the hobby since no one in their family was an amateur.

You would have thought about half of the old farts present had never actually meet a woman by the way they acted around her. Interrupting each other, talking louder, explaining everything, it was downright embarrassing. Needless to say she never came back.
