To someone that I don't know: Ok thanks for the contact, have a great day, 73 from N6QIC. To a friend that I know: Ok talk to you later, have a great day N6QIC. To someone that I don't know that called me and I don't really want to talk to them, or I have to leave for some reason: Hey I have to go and take my dogs for there walk, have a great day, this is N6QIC
Any of several ways, only some of which are included in the survey. Been a long time since I used it -- and hopefully will be a long time before I use it again: "I need my diaper changed." I was amused to read the bylaws of a famous CW club, that one needed to have a half-hour QSO at or above the club's minimum speed in order to be considered for membership. I thought, "As a Novice it was easy to get the Ragchewer award because it took so long to send report/QTH/name/wx. At THAT speed, anybody I talk to for half an hour better be somebody I'm willing to marry." 73, Chuck (Not "Grumpy") VE7PJR
Unfortunately you have opened up too many avenues to continue the QSO! Next they'll be comparing BP or Cold-rectal results....
The "I have to let you go" I think is a southern/Texas thing, like an old Texas grandmother on the phone with her friend "I have to let you go now, time to get my biscuits out of the oven". I know it drives some people crazy but it is just common vernacular around here.
