Big fires by Chico with the windy conditions ... Evacuation orders right now. #CampFire
Coffee, cake and FT-HATE.
Sunday 11th November I will be activating the special event call sign VI4PEACE on 20 and 40m
What modes? Have you decided on frequencies?
Mental inquiry, yada yada yada
SSB and FT8. My cw rx is probably not up to it
Nor is mine. Although I did survive Ducie on 5 bands cw....
I don't do FT-8 because I'm not set up for it - yet. Someday, just not today.
So, post up your times and ssb frequency beforehand and I'll give it a go. We should have a decent circuit over the Pacific.
I think even the strongest wind will have a hard time blowing this "L" antenna mount with 30' portable telescopic mast over.
I think these compact and lightweight L shaped antenna mounts are better to use than any kind of portable tripod arrangement.
I made one of these in less than 30 minutes. Contact me for construction details.
Nice work. I am mostly Shack based these days. My FT-991 has not been in the car in weeks!
I have dug out some toys and am going to fire them up tonight and see if i can get picked up on RBN or even make a contact
Makes me want to hook up my QRP rigs again (40 m "Pebble Crusher" XTAL controlled, 80m TRX 40+ years old, both 1W out) which sit on the shelf unconnected since my last shack rearrangement.
