I had to solder the PL259 connector back on to my LMR400 today. Yup, I forgot to disconnect it from the van last night and started to back out and it pulled the connector off. The first time I have ever forgot to disconnect. But it seems to be working even better now, all is good again at camp Lisa.
OK, I sat on my back proch for a while yesterday. I got two bug bites. That is as far as I'll get for being outdoors. I did make some local 2 meter contacts while sitting out there though.;
I mostly took down all my antennas for typhoon season, but tried to chase a SOTA activator this morning using the 40 meter VGP now horizontal on the roof on 20 meters. He was mobbed and I guess he couldn't hear my 4 watts and no antenna. The I resumed work on a tramline system for putting my ungainly hexbeam up on the tower mast after the typhoons are done. I fettled a new hanging bracket from aluminum and tried it on my scale tramline model. When the winds die down I'll attach it to the real hexbeam and give it a try. Oh, and I left my 6-meter Yagi up but almost on the roof, monitoring FT8 I just saw I missed a great opening to Eurasia!
Werkin on the BC-348 project now. Trying to figure out these dial lights. Feeling stumped. Lighting circuits are supposed to be really simple right?
Finished up my Gonset Commander transmitter cables, and will match it's output link coupling to 50 Ohms, so I can use it tomorrow on the morning net. Will mount the big power supply in a rack cabinet.
