I used one like that for a Yaesu, And used 100 Ohm resistors in series to avoid smoke.

The resistors may not be required, But I added them to protect my radio.

    Have Fun.

Does the manual say the rs232 requires a null modem?

Have you tried straight through RX to RX, TX to TX?

    CTS should go to RTS

    I'll try that,

Should the RXD and TXD lines be crossed or RXD to RXD, TXD to TXD?

    Max

You have those correct, If you are sure of the port pins.

Inputs go to outputs and outputs go to inputs.

    Good Luck.

    According to the datasheet:

    Screen Shot 2018-11-22 at 8.35.58 AM.png
So...brown wire (CTS) to radio RTS pin, green wire (RTS) to radio CTS pin, orange wire (TXD) to radio RXD pin, yellow wire (RXD) to radio TXD pin. Ground to ground.

    Is that correct?
