There is plenty of action on 40 meters and 20 meters.

But where is everyone on 15 meters and 10 meters? I know the bands aren't dead because SSB is working but CW not so much.

It seems a waste. Shouldn't techs be more interested? Both these bands can get dx with 100w and a small dipole.

10 and 15 come and go these days. Particularly 10. Just gotta be there at the right time.

I was there! Made an SSB contact to Ireland on 10 meters and heard another op coming in from France. Heard crickets on CW and my CQs went unanswered.

The magic band? I'll have to check it out for a listen. Maybe it will be worth putting up a 6 meter antenna.

Yesterday was better. Successful CW qso on 28.005, late afternoon. Ohio.

No luck on 6 meters listening. Is there a good time of day for 6 meters?

    Get on and CALL
Well, since Everyone knows we are in low sunspot years and the higher HF bands are Dead, they just concentrate on 20, 30 and 40 M for DX !
WELL, there is lots of sporadic E-skip at random times on 6/10/12 and 15M, in the spring and summer months ,
I tune in WWV and if I hear it well on 20 and 25 MHz, I get on one of the higher bands and Call CQ until my rig's fan comes on !
I often get a reply from who-knows-where, sometimes interesting DX.
I even have had some good QSOs on 12 M, that seems to be a forgotten band !

Finally ready to get back on 6M with a new rig. In the struggle to get the old Yagi back on the mast , must have broken a connection to the feedpoint and the thing is DEAD, I can hear some 6M beacons using the 12 M dipole but can't transmit with it :(

I guess we'll have to ask the Sun Gods that question.

But there certainly been a lot of sporadic E activity for the last 60 days.
I have made a number of contacts daily on 10 m as an example.
Get on and call CQ, and you might be surprised who comes back.

I've heard a few stations on 10m CW, but haven't been able to work any. I've spent a fair amount of time calling CQ and never gotten a reply. I think I need a better 10m antenna.

Back when I was doing CW, I'd set my automatic keyer to loop "CQ CQ CQ DE W5UAA W5UAA K" on 28.050 with about a 5 second delay between. I usually had an answer in 30 to 45 minutes.

My Yagi (10 M 3 element) is up again, aimed south without the rotor, and I can hear the beacons almost any day I check 10 M!
