Hi all.....I am in the UK.....some of us in the UK who have a callsign starting 2E can change it to the more recognizable M8 or M9. I am now M9LPL was 2E0LPL....but I like my QRZ page as it is.....and dont want to have to start a new one. Can I edit it to show me as M9LPL.....just had a look I dont see any easy way. Nick.
Hi, I don't think you can. A friend of mine changed from 2e0 to an M8, and had to start a new log book. I fi a QRZ moderator sees your request, he can give more info. 73.
Please submit a support ticket at https://ssl.qrz.com/support requesting a callsign and user name change from 2E0LPL to M9LPL. Be sure to attach a copy of your new license documentation showing your new callsign. Once you receive notification that it has been completed, log out and then log back in using M9LPL as your username but with the same password you previously used. This is a routine request and should only take a few hours to complete once you submit the support ticket. Your page will carry over untouched, however you will need to start a new logbook as each logbook is assigned to a specific callsign. You won't lose the old 2E0LPL logs, QSLs, or awards, but you won't be able to add new QSOs to the old logbook -- not that you'd want to as you have a new callsign anyway. 73 de DW
Note that you can combine your logbooks for awards. So if you're almost done with "Master of South America" you can use both your old and new logbooks combined to complete the award.
Looks like you're done except for this step: log out and then log back in using M9LPL as your username but with the same password you previously used
Regarding this request ticket change, can someone advise if QRZ allow you to keep your intermediate logbook if you update your 2E0 suffix to a different M8 suffix, as the user is still the same intermediate ham but simply taken advantage of updated uk Licencing, so they don’t lose all their existing DXCC’s etc already made as that same intermediate ham
Each logbook is only good for one callsign. If you change your callsign then you’ll need to start a new logbook. Your old one doesn’t go away, nor do you lose your QSOs, QSLs, or awards, and both logbooks can be combined for awards, but all new QSOs will need to go into the new logbook which makes sense as you have a new callsign.
