Henry Allen Stange WA6RXZ, a much loved and respected amateur operator in the Southern California area is now a silent key. Henry was known by many VHF operators as someone who loved to tell silly jokes and funny stories you would always remember. Henry was also a talented guitar player and his talent was demonstrated at many local amateur radio events. It always seemed Henry was around when you were looking for someone to talk to or to tell you one of his funny stories. Henry also had a passion for building antennas and sharing his knowledge with fellow operators. Henry's remains were found partially buried in Joshua Tree National Park on June 2nd. As of this posting, law enforcement has yet to release any details surrounding his untimely death.

Update: At a little past 3 PM PT (-8 UTC) September 3, 2020, the trial of Curtis Krueger, Henry's alleged killer, went to the jury after the D.A. and the Deputy D.A. gave their closing arguments and the prosecution's rebuttal. The trial lasted about 2-3 weeks with both Kruger and Ashlie Stapp, the defendant's(ex?) girlfriend testified in Riverside County Superior Court S304 in Murrietta, CA.
Former USMC 1st Lt. Curtis Kreuger has been formally convicted of 2nd Degree Murder for the homicide of controversial op WA6RXZ, Henry Stange. He's additionally been convicted of Assault With A Deadly Weapon Great Bodily Harm for the assault with a hammer against Henry in the preceding months. Sentencing will take place in October.
"Curtis Lee Krueger, 32, was sentenced Thursday [Oct 22] to 18 years to life in state prison for murdering Murrieta resident Henry Stange, 54."
