    Very true, and a good design won't "bias up" the driver, finals until pressed into the transmit mode, adding to the switching complexity.

    On the cohn filter thing, a simple crystal matching exercise (i.e. pick the 5 closest out of 15) goes a long way towards performance. I've built half a dozen filters this way, they may not be perfect but they've all had QSO's run through them.
