Win 10, (Home OR Pro) screwed up by MS? Isn't that redundant? it seems EVERY upgrade has glitches, often MORE than the updates were suppose to fix.

This has to be a troll post. I mean why would anyone want to downgrade to home edition from pro? That's like having a brand new car with all the bells and whistles and trading it to your neighbor in for their bare-bones car with no power steering or AC.

No it is NOT (necessarily) a "troll" post. Some people MAY actually have legitimate reasons, (and that is THEIR business, NOT ours,) but in many cases, it is a misunderstanding of what is (legally) allowed and possible when they obtain a second hand computer, which already has an installed OS license key.

Like a "Not transferable" License. o_O

He probably wants Home because he uses it at home.

    That poses an interesting question:

Does the "license" (for Win 10) actually belong to the (first) OWNER, or does it actually belong to the MACHINE on which the license key sticker is affixed?

Remember, if it is/was an OEM version of WIn 10, (i.e., installed by the factory) the Win 10 license will usually NOT work if a motherboard is changed, (esxcept, perhaps with the exact same model MoBo) even if it is a change made by the original owner!

    Not sure.

Maybe you could use the original owners credit card to keep 365 going. o_O

I am sure that machine has the original owners credentials on it.

OEM licenses are node locked, they go with the machine.

"Pro" doesn't mean that it is harder to use.

    It depends.

Volume license = belongs only to original owner. Original owner can "transfer" between machines but usually does not transfer to anyone else.
OEM = belongs to the original machines.
Retail = Free to transfer but may need to call MS to activate on different machine.
