Hi I’m asking for help to send a relief to Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico has been devastated by Hurricane Maria. I’m at Fort Worth Texas and with a group of Puerto Ricans we will set up a storage with first aid items to send them to Puerto Rico. We are asking for canned food, triple antibiotic, baby and adult diapers, first aid kits, water, hygiene items, cloth, etc. Everything will be sent to Puerto Rico. Any help will be well appreciated, you can send things by mail: 5735 Sandshell Circle East #54203 Fort Worth TX 76137 email: wp3c@aol.com
Al, I just saw your post. I have been involved in a little bit of disaster and emergency volunteering over about the last 50 years. We always appreciate everyone who provides assistance in these circumstances. One of the problems we unfortunately face in many of these situations are people and groups who take advantage of these situations. Thus, there are a number of guidelines and steps that must be fulfilled, that many good-meaning groups are unaware of. Part of this is assuming you know, if you are sending Intermodal shipping containers, they must be cleared on both the sending and receiving ends. For donations, I hope you are working in conjunction with a valid disaster relief organization that can provide traceable tax deductible receipts. There are many in every area of the country, and they can make things happen pretty fast. To help you gain more donations, you need to be in a position to provide anyone making donations, to provide your sponsoring and registration information for shipping from Texas and entry to PR. Thank you very much for your assistance in this unfortunate situation. Ken K8KJG
