I could have sworn I just saw a chart recently on a website
that showed year of manufacture from the Series No.

Of course it was one of those nights I was surfing around
and didn't bookmark the page. and now I can't find it again.

Anyone know of a link that displays that info?

    Thank you

I hate it when that happens! Can you look at your history file?

How could the "Series No." or "Serial No." show the year of manufacture? Their models were a box or boxes full of parts. Even when the kit was sold, there is no way to tell when it was actually assembled.
There are lists that show models 1st year introduction and last year available.

For some info relating to the life cycle years a specific product was on the market, you can go here: http://www.nostalgickitscentral.com/heath/heathkit.html
and click on Heathkit Product Categories.
Also, the original manual that was shipped with the product had an identifying number on it. First generation was 595-xxxx. Changes made to the product which required a change made to the manual, the second generation of the manual was labeled 595-xxxx-1, third generation, 595-xxxx-2, etc.

Nor who did the assembly. This is why you will never see a U-L listing on a Heath item. They wanted us (Tappan Co.)
to make a microwave oven kit for them. We would not since it could not be U-L listed, which Tappan required of all
    of our appliances.
