1300UTC is 11.00pm here, if I am up that late will give Hawaii a go with my solar powered station, as long as the battery holds out.

No sunlight at that time !

Only short bursts of 45W, mostly 10W or QRP.

CW only. If I can hear Hawaii will drop a call or two in.

We are using Hawaii Standard Time, not UTC.

    Because.

I believe most people will be from Hawaii doing this. So HST.

Fine. It's your contest/event. You can make your own rules.

I just find it odd, as this particular part flies in the face of standard amateur communications record keeping.

That is correct, I have made my rules and they are published. Most contest use UTC but I don't. There is not a standard requirement you have to do to have fun.

You certainly have a LOT of rules (requirement, standard or otherwise) for this "fun" event of yours.

It's news because it was posted in the Amateur Radio News forum. Otherwise, as an event, it would've been posted in the Contests, DXpeditions and Special Events forum. Or, I could be wrong.

Why are you being difficult about this? If you don't want to try to contact us then don't do it. I was posting in case someone needed Hawaii and wanted to try. I don't expect others to do the event off the island. Just a fact of life. Try to have fun and enjoy the hobby instead of trying to question everything.

    1) Don't confuse being difficult with being curious.

    2) I'm going to have fun starting by unwatching this thread.
