Did hammy radio ever have a soul?

I've worked some pretty rare stations and DX from New England even though some here in New England say it can't be done! I've never paid for a hammy radio confirmation.

All caps and poor grammar, I can live with; jerks in a hobby profiteering... meh.

 

My experience has gone from having good conversations on 2 meters to having great 10 meter contacts when I strung a dipole in my ceiling of the old house.
I'm not "broadcasting" though, because I make quick contacts and move on. Seems automatic voice recording and sitting on a certain frequency is the norm now. We have many frequencies which are not channels available for use according to your level of license. Always be nice and have a good day !

Can't speak for the other op, but I don't doubt he's a busy man. As for being poor or functionally poor, that thought never occurred to me. If you haven't already, how about going to his QRZed page HERE. Read what he says and look at all the pics. Then come back here and say that with a straight face.

The evidence is there, unless someone doesn't want to see it.

 

I totally agree with you for giving credit due for his abilities and his success. I find his accomplishments
commendable. I have two ham friends who are originally from the Balkans, one is in Australia and the other is in the US. They are both totally against ham radio being used as a money making scheme.

 

Is it really that important to the hobbyist to work that greedy a-hole? Well, maybe to some it actually is important, but certainly not to me. I think those who take advantage and profiteer are the scum of the earth. I'd rather have a good conversation with like-minded people of higher values, ethics, and moral values.

Hammy radio = just a hobby.

"Many" years post contact I'll have neither memory of such nor a recorded log. For reasons not known I've never seen the radio hobby as a competitive venue.

 

I do not mind offering a donation for a DXpedition for an ATNO, or new on band/mode.

I WILL NEVER PAY A PENNY TO ANYONE WHO PERMANANTLY LIVES AT A DX LOCATION AND REQUIRES PAYMENT FROM OTHER HAMS TO CONFIRM A QSO IN LoTW!

I love QRZ! When I'm on air I log on paper and then manually put everything into QRZ after. It's super easy to use and I've got what I consider to be a fairly high confirmation rate there. I also to eqsl and paper but my QRZ account has a way higher amount of confirmed QSOs. I never was a league guy so I don't mess with any of with that.
