    HANDIHAM 56th ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL EVENT On the Air !

    The Handiham Radio Camp will be on the air as a special event September 11, from 11 AM to 4 PM CDT (16:00 to 21:00 Zulu) to celebrate the 56th Anniversary of the Courage Kenny Handiham Program and promote the Handiham program in general.

    Disabled campers and others will operate SSB and CW on 10, 15, 20, and 40 meters as conditions allow, using either or both W0ZSW and W0EQO call signs. Operators will exchange name and location (i.e. State, Province, Country) and promote the Handiham program and its 56th Anniversary assisting operators get on the air.

    Contacts will be confirmed with a commemorative special event QSL card if requested. Please listen for “Handi Ham CQ 56,” and make contact with disabled campers and others assisting in the project. We would love to hear from you!

    Suggested frequencies:

    10 meters: on or near 28.050 CW; 28.350 SSB
    15 meters: on or near 21.050 CW; 21.350 SSB
    20 meters: on or near 14.050 CW; 14.250 SSB
    40 meters: on or near 7.050 CW; 7.200 SSB

    Excellent! I'll be keeping my ears open for this Special Event on CW.

    Regarding CW, I see from your QRZ page that you're learning Morse code. YAY! I invite you to join the SKCC. Membership is free; it's a friendly and supportive club for anyone interested in CW, whether it be those new to the mode, or OT's, such as myself. It's a lot of fun!
