Hamvention 2021 Chair Appointed

    The Board of the Dayton Amateur Radio Association is very pleased to announce the appointment of a new Hamvention Chair and Assistant Chair for 2021.
    The new General Chair is Rick Allnutt WS8G. Rick has been in Amateur Radio since 1982 and holds an extra class license. He has been involved as a Hamventiion volunteer for the last decade. Rick is an avid CW operator, member of CW Ops, and occasional contester. He supports several amateur radio organizations as a life member. He was most recently the Assistant General Chair.

    The new Assistant General Chair is Jim Storms AB8YK. Jim holds an extra class license. Currently an arrl ve team leader. He has served as a Past President, Vice President and Secretary of the SWODXA club. He has served DARA for the last two years as Vice President and Hamvention advance registration chair for three years. He is also a cofounder of the Dave Kalter Youth Dx Adventure and serves as one of the directors and team trip leader.

    The DARA Board is very grateful to Jack Gerbs WB8SCT for his recent service to Hamvention and DARA. He has been very respected in his leadership of nearly 750 volunteers.

    These changes go into effect July 1, 2020. Please join the DARA membership in congratulating Rick and Jim.

    Congrats to the new chairs!

    Also, Jack and crew did a tremendous amount of effort for Hamvention, that we never got to see at Xenia this year. Many thanks to those folks!
