Long live Yaesu!!!!
As long as you don't have to high SWR...
tube is good . solid state is a bit too sensitive . yaesu is the best and also the older kenwood radios
One day i will hold a contest between a tubed rig and solid state rig of the same company and just see who is better . yes ,long live yaesu! too bad Collins radio wasent still around, stupid Rockwell international and there discontinuation of amateur equipment .
In my opinion, the FT707 was the best rig ever made by Yaesu- it's still very popular in the UK, so they are holding their price very well. A rig on its own would cost you about £300 (~$600) even before you start buying accessories like the FC707 or the FP707
thats funny, I was having a peak at that on rig pix jus the other day.
I couldnt help saying it looked like a nicely put together rig
i like the FT-707, it doesn't look like a yaesu to me but its still a nice looking rig and looks put together good .
Are we talking about the same FT-707? http://www.rigpix.com/yaesu/ft707.htm
Terribly ugly, if you ask me. Only some old ICOMs are uglier, like the IC730. http://www.rigpix.com/icom/ic730.htm
Of course you cannot judge performance by how a radio looks, best example: Ten Tec Orion. Kickass radio, but rather ugly.
mhm, thats what I meant
She looks like a solid rig
Yeah, the Ten Tec radios look kinda goofy in my opinion.
Same w/ the Icom and Kenwood VHF/UHF radios
just my opinion
