    Yeah, that's a pretty big stretch. Not IMPOSSIBLE maybe, but unusual. There's a small market for ham gear and when some IS stolen it's almost always
    Yup, worked the last time I turned it on!

    Of course, that was in 1968...

    I saw a recent ad for a relatively late model high end HF rig..." comes with original box...no manual" ! How does that even happen?

    At most places I’ve worked, cutting the cord off of a hopelessly broken piece of equipment was about the only sure way to prevent someone from attempting to put it back into service. A sign taped to the front was regarded merely as a suggestion...

    However this doesn’t work for equipment with IEC 320 power sockets and detachable cords, one has to get more creative such as removing a fuse!

    I no longer keep manuals for things that I own. I rarely need them anyway, but when I do, I just Google and find the manual online.
