I noticed the smallest hint of that buried in the minutes of the last BOD meeting, "The January QST will be trimmed to a standard magazine size." to reduce costs, of course. It's already within a small fraction of that anyway, so it made me curious what else could be changing too. No alert nor anything that seems different on the ARRL web site info to advertisers (soon to be disaffected?)

I take exception to your ideas of what happened with all of the hams, local and imported, there.
There was only defined path during the call up and travel phase.
Once arriving the situation changed, morphed or what ever term you may apply to it.
It was and still is a disaster.
All of us that deployed had daily contact with the island hams and each other.
    Multi-talented hams? Yes and no.
We applied skills any ham would use.
We had, in many instances, used skills learned in a life time,
Turning into "Ranger Rick" was and never will be a viable option.
Abandoning your assignment and station and then claiming no one answered when contact was needed leads to a question.
Who can make the call when the operator is not at his operating position?
Don't rely on what is printed or said by anyone.
If you were there, then you can most certainly make a statement.
    I was.

I thought it was about Puerto Rico! It about a dispute? Must have missed that one.....or ignored it.

Yeah, clearly I misread that comment. I would have edited my comment if I could have figured out how to. Good to hear from you and hope all is well.

Hi fellas. My name is Justo Yambo WP4PEG.
After all arguments, I am a volunteer First Responder.
I have some certifications from FEMA that lead myself to be to help during the hurricane Maria emergency in Toa Baja City. Those Fema trainings are Incident Command System and Net Guard. Those trainings give us the tools to work in the radio comms between other inmportant tasks that can be performed along the situation.
Be a Ham Operator led me to perform my duty including my puertorrican amateurs that are still aiding the Puerto Rico Power Authority with their comunications.
But I agree about the comment about burocracy.
I will openly thank to every amateur who have traveled to Puerto Rico for support.

    Blessings. 73.

Like December QST...look at the quality of the pages...you can see the print thru from the other side.

I get how you might call that cheap or low quality but I don't understand the "foreign" reference.
