I programmed in the 60m channels. I guess it would be useful for 10m repeaters - but that's about all.

I do. I program in 6 and 10 meter repeater and simplex frequencies, but that's about it.

Very useful for, as noted, 60 meter "Channels" as well as a far quicker way to change band+mode, without having 4 or 5 touch screens gropes to go from 80 meter cw to 75 meter ssb.
    .
For such a smart radio, the '7300 does present a pain in the ass for something as simple as CW to LSB, or adjusting carrier output power.

    60 is funny:
    We have "Discrete Frequencies"
    5330.5
    5346.5
    5357
    5371.5
    5403.5
And , in Alaska ( ONLY) we can use 5167.5 kc
All are Upper side band, and 100 watts ERP

Or you can get CHIRP and program it easier.

I don't have a 7300 but this is very interesting. The manual (in the video) is showing you how to program the memories the OLD way, not via the menu like the video also shows. I have the 746Pro, 756ProIII, 718, etc. That is how you program channels in the older radios. Very Strange... you would think the manual would be more up to date..

I know it looks like a royal pain programming the older Icoms... but when you get the "rhythm", you can knock out the channels pretty fast. Created a spreadsheet first for the way I wanted to channels to line up. I guess with all my older Icom rigs (I have lots more) I got pretty good with it.

Just get RT Systems and that will be all you need.

The '7300 won't even remember it's Carrier Power setting from the last band change.
Curiously, there are 2 separate controls for Noise Blanker, and yet lacks front panel MODE switching button.
Perhaps a janitor at ICOM could prepare a software update, repurposing a few of the UNUSED front panel buttons to support useful operating functions,
Like a fast easy Lower Sideband-Upper Sideband-CW toggle...
or maybe a DEFAULT at-rest CARRIER POWER function for the multi-purpose knob ?
