True dat. I've seen more than one QRZ profile where the "hammer" has about $30,000+ worth of high-end rigs and amplifiers sitting on the desk along with the required 3 large computer monitors. The setup is described in 3 to 5 paragraphs (usually in that stupid light cursive font I can't read without a jewelers loupe); then, one sentence describes the antenna...an EFHW wrapped around the patio to avoid the scrutiny of the community HOA enforcer. It's good for a laugh...does that mean the shack is strategic and the antenna is tactical?
We should now realize that more people have posted on a 2m HT antenna, than are actually OTA using 2M HT;s.... ;-)
Rookies think tactics, newbies think strategics, those in the know think logistics. My HT is 'logisticool'.
I have one made by twayradio and I love it. I use a velcro wrap to hold the fold when in tow and or listening. I always unfold for Tx.. I have over 20 (not kidding) different antennas for my HT's and this is my "go-to" almost daily. I scanned this antenna using a cheap nano-vna and the results were 1.6:1 uhf and 2.4:1 vhf. That beat the heck out of the stock which came in at 2.6:1 uhf and 3.5:1 vhf
that loop antenna is available from amazon, usd 24 +ship: https://www.amazon.com/HYS-Antennas...fix=2m+portable+loop+antenna,aps,216&sr=8-2\\
My hat's off to anyone that figures out a way to take advantage of the system. I don't know anything about these ham tubers but I watch a lot of travel videos and there's one dweeb couple that moves from one cruise ship to the next vlogging their merry way the whole time. They have so many subscribers and views they are literally vacating for a living.
"Yes"... ???? SINR:SIgnal to (interference and noise) RATIO... Tilt to match launch angle of main lobe of power pattern. Am I not using the right terminology?
