Ham Radio takes a young kid, and a dad, a long ways with more to come In a galaxy a long time ago, there was a ham family with callsigns of KH6DAD and KH6BRY. A father and son dual. KH6DAD, Rich, was a NCS for a long time for the EARC Club and did his nets via a livestream video. His son, KH6BRY, Bryan, was a 13 year old kid at the time. Bryan entered the annual Hawaii Science fair and won for his satellite (Cubsat) that he built. Rich, KH6DAD, and Bryan, KH6BRY (Around August 2006) Bryan says on his QRZ page, “The photo is of me and my dad the very first night we went on the air (8/26/06) with our new call signs.” Bryan’s last edit of his QRZ pages says he attended Hanalani School and love geology, reptiles, chemistry, electronics, robotics, but especially love playing World of Warcraft. Gnomes rule! Bryan is now in California working on a Satellite that will orbit around the moon. He is studying to become an electrical engineer. Encouraging young kids can have a lasting impact as it did for Bryan. Who says ham radio is dead? I can't wait to make some contacts using a moon orbit satellite. This is OUTSTANDING. John K4AGO
