Just one example why it may not be a good idea to talk about religion on the air.
Ask a Canuck gun owner or a Canuck Bible preacher preaching Romans chapter 1
Religion is still a thing for a bunch of reasons...
1) Force of habit.
3) Science cannot answer all questions yet. Many of the questions science cannot answer are of great importance to some people, so they seek the answers elsewhere.
4) "Religion" is a very loosely defined thing, and covers a lot of ground.
Do you know that for a fact, or is it simply your belief?
Have you not heard of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms?
At the end of the day, constitutions, bills of rights etc are still just laws that are considered more fundamental than others so are intentionally more difficult to change which is probably a good thing but any guarantee is only as good as how well it is implemented.
It's easy to be smug but the American news is full of cases where due process has failed. This is more likely to happen for someone who is a member of a minority group.
How can it be otherwise?
Well, lets see (figures from 2015) the 8 largest corporations received tax incentives, Federal Grants and subsidies from State and Federal Governments in the following amounts.
Taken from the list of the top 100 corporate welfare recipients in 2015...
Amounts in Billions:
Nike - $2.03
Royal Dutch Shell - $2.04
Fiat Chrysler - $2.06
Ford - $2.52
General Motors - $3.58
Intel - $3.87
Alcoa - $5.64
Boeing - $13.18
In 2015 Corporations received, in total, more in government handouts than was given out in Welfare and Food Stamps to the sick, old and poor.
From Nine Inch Nail's " Head Like a Hole":
God money's not looking for the cure.
God money's not concerned with the sick among the pure.
God money let's go dancing on the backs of the bruised.
God money's not one to choose
Again, this is a forum for "Ham radio discussions".
Same people again.
