Like doing a site survey on 2 meters?
and yet they have the same appeal ...

Huh? Tubes are the EASIEST parts to find! And even in 1930s sets its not unusual to find at least some of the tubes still good.
I saw a younger male in Dunkin Donuts yesterday. He had huge gauges in his ears. He had 6 piercings in his lower lip area. Instead of some type of ring, he had black stitches running through them.
He was wearing a t-shirt that said: I'm going to hell in every religion.
That's what they look like when you take there phones away.
The whole world doesn't live high on the hog in Kali, like WIK and some of the other heathens around here.
What a bizarre and sad thing to say. It implies that the only thing keeping you going now is the belief in what comes after.
Those of us who don't believe in such things have a good reason to make the most of things now. It's the only time we have.
Suppose - just SUPPOSE - that when we die, it's just like going to sleep, except you never wake up.
I'm NOT saying that's what happens, just SUPPOSE. (Can you deal with a hypothetical situation?)
IF that's what happens.....why should anyone kill themselves because of it? Why not do our best to help each other enjoy the life we know we have?
Consider: One of the ways religion has been abused - yes, ABUSED - down through millennia is that it has been used as a way to control the great masses of people by telling them that "God(s) want you to do this!". In some cases it was to get people to fight a war the leaders wanted, in most cases, it was to get people to accept poverty and subjugation and such. Ever hear of the divine right of kings?
Mandatory Amateur Radio Content: The Vatican, where the Pope lives and the Hq of the Roman Catholic Church, has long had an amateur radio station (HV0A). It's a DXCC entity because it meets the rules to be one (The Vatican is a separate country).
One HUGE thing you British blokes and Canadian hosers are forgetting... Just like the old Soviet Union, which likewise had "constitutionally-protected" rights, you don't have guaranteed Due Process - the one thing that's necessary to procure and guarantee such enumerated rights.
