    A great deal of credibility can be added to a statement by including a reference true not all may agree but at least it's a good start.

    §97.111 Authorized transmissions.

    (a) An amateur station may transmit the following types of two-way communications:
    (2) Brief transmissions necessary to establishing two-way communications with other stations;

    Sure, but he'll have to appear personally before an ALJ. I wouldn't hold my breath.

    No, that's backwards.

    Our rule of law is partly based on the concept that what is not prohibited is permitted. Saying "if it is not [explicitly, presumably] permitted it's prohibited" would be an AWFUL way to have things run.

    The biggest violator of FCC Part 97 regulations in the amateur radio community is station WTWW.

    They openly tell everyone they are "broadcasting," running 100,000 watts and are playing music on the air all the time!

    I caught them doing this and made a recording...

    So?

    They’re a broadcaster. They’re not covered under Part 97. And they’re licensed for 100 kW.

    Or are you just trying to fool us into listening for them, OM?

    Park it on 5.085 on your big dial OM. :)

    Pretty good "amateur radio" programming on there all the time. They even participated providing live coverage during Field Day activities this year. So station WTWW is one of us now. :D

    Besides, it's cheap entertainment if you get bored over there. Have fun. :)

    So first you complain about them, then you promote them. Uh huh. Sure.

    I’m not getting snookered so easily into spending time listening to a religious broadcaster. Nice try though.

    Quite frankly, I don't think Bob Heil playing his organ music is a very religious experience myself ...Sorry, nothing personal Bob.
