AREDN is used often in this area, it is some cool firmware. I got the meet these guys at HAMCOM last year, nice bunch of folks.
Listened to the first half of the podcast on the way to work today. Pretty neat concept and it's interesting to see new innovation on the ham bands, especially 900 MHz and up.
None in my neck of the woods either. I'd like to setup something but finding a good initial site seems like a hell of a lot of work.
