Not sure where to post this question but, Is there anywhere / anyone on the QRZ site that is a backyard astronomer / ham radio operator ? Not meaning radioastronomy, just some fellow operators who are
    also into astronomy.

I am. Front yard in my case, better unobstructed views.

My current receiver and antenna (also have a Alt-Az 10" F/10 LX200 for visual):

I have been both - still have a Mead telescope somewhere, but it's been a long time since it was set up. We now have a granddaughter who is about to turn two years and I anticipate getting the 'scope out again in two or three years when she is old enough to get a kick out of seeing the moon in closeup.
