Presentation1.jpg Petaluma, Calif. — Ham Nation celebrates its 300th episode at the end of May.
Back in 2011, Leo LaPorte, founder of Twit.tv, happened to win a Heil microphone as a door prize. He fell in love with the microphone and talked Bob Heil into being a guest on his show. During that live interview, hams from all over the World started checking in to the chat room. Both Leo and Bob realized there was a void that needed filling….a Ham Radio show!

And almost 300 episodes later, the show is stronger than ever. In order to celebrate the show’s 300th episode, they’ll be offering hams from around the World the chance to participate in various ham radio events. There will be something for everyone in the ham radio community to participate in no matter what level license class you hold and no matter what aspect of the hobby you prefer. The Ham Nation 300 event will kick off Wednesday night May 24th thru May 31st with 9 on-air special event stations and 4 wild card stations. Work a few or work them all and earn a certificate. Points can also be earned by doing ham radio activities that showcase the spirit of the show…everything from kit building, to promoting the hobby & show using social media, to simply submitting a photo of your shack.

The goal is to encourage hams to push outside their ham radio comfort zone and try other aspects of the hobby. They plan to bring the top 3 ham radio “go getters” on the show based on points earned.

You can watch the show live every Wednesday night at 8pm central at Twit.Tv/HamNation. To learn more about the Ham Nation 300 events, go to W0H’s QRZ page or send an email to: HamNation300@gmail.com.
