I am absolutely certain that you are right about that, but I could be wrong.

My grandmother was a member of the Flat Earth Society in London. To the best of my knowledge, no one ever tried to convince her she was wrong, and her believing what she did did not harm anyone. But sometimes believing something, whether or not you are right, can be harmful. My problem ( among many ) is that being right or wrong is NOT a matter of what "everyone else" believes. Truth and reality are not democratic processes. History is filled with examples of beliefs that were subsequently "proven" wrong, even though they were at one time "proven" right. So "proof" doesn't really mean much, either. We either believe something, or we don't. If we are smart, we keep on learning, and as we learn, our "perception" of what is true and real may change. Yesterday I thought I was smart. Today I know better.
