Great News for the owners of XIEGU X5105 and those thinking of purchasing one for use in digital modes.
Jason at Tigertronics (SignaLink USB interface) just wrote back saying the following:

"Thank you for your email. Regarding your question about the SignaLink,
the Xiegu x5105 uses our SignaLink USB p/n SLUSBRJ4 and jumper module
p/n SLMODR4I. The SLMODR4I isn't listed in our guide for the x5105 yet
because we just recently confirmed that it is compatible.

Please see the notes on the SLMODR4I module below. There are two small
jumpers located on this module but as noted below, you will *NOT* need
to do anything with them. You'll simply plug the module in like you did
with your other SignaLink. Note that installation on this radio will
require two cables (included). You'll connect the RJ-45 radio cable
between the radio's Mic jack and the SignaLink's Radio jack, and then
the audio cable connects between the radio's External Speaker jack and
    the SignaLink's SPKR jack."

I have not bought the XIEGU yet but I have a birthday and Christmas coming up soon...maybe I will get lucky !!! The connection is made by using the USB port on your computer to the interface unit. I am using a Signalink USB interface connect to computer and to my FT-450D. Works great. The nice thing about Signalink is that you do not have to wire the interface which is a pain because of the small hookup cables. Just buy the jumper module for your radio and pop it into the interface case and you are good to go!!! I wraped both of the cables to the computer & the interface with split a toroid to prevent RF problems. With the bands being in as bad shape as they are most days using Digital Mode is a blessing. The ARRL and Amazon have some good books on Digital Modes and hookups etc. Have fun!!!
