The big event is almost here!
Don't really need a beam though I'm sure it helps.
YES! 2 meters is the place to be in the September VHF contest. Even a small 5 element on a painters Pole turned by hand will double your fun build your own with plans found on the web or order one there are several dealers who offer 2 meter/70 CM beams for less than 100 bucks.
This just went up two weeks ago. So far great results on 6. And not hard on the pocket book.
I go though all the trouble of homebrewing this 27 foot long VHF Yagi, and someone comes along and puts a big white dot in the sky directly in front of it and in my way.
Okay wise guy.
He always wanted to be a bouncer.
5 elements on 6m - 100W at 45 feet and 9 elements wide-spaced at 50 feet on 2m 160w CW/SSB QRV!!!!
And for the hell of it, 11 elements on 440 at 50 feet but FM only - who knows? Maybe I'll work
a station or 2 on 440 FM
Can hardly wait!!
4 elements on 6 and up to a KW, 14 elements on 2 and 175 watts, 5 elements on 220 and 110 watts, 31 elements on 432 and 100 watts. Should be fun.
If all goes well, by Friday my new TS-2000 arrived, the 2nd mast is on the roof with 4 elements on 6m and 5 elements on 2m. Need to build something for 70cm.
