Gerard Aina, 90, died May 8, 2019 at his home in Simi Valley, CA. Gerry was the husband of my mother-in-law's best friend. My wife and her siblings grew up with the man they knew as Uncle Gerry. I had the honor and privilege to claim him as an honorary uncle, too. When a proper obituary is available, I'll include it here. However, Gerry was an ebullient Hawaiian-Chinese gentleman who embodied the concept of ohana (family). Among many other things, he was an eyewitness to the bombing of Pearl Harbor as a teenager. He saw military service himself after WW2. He leaves behind many extended family members in CA, HI, GA and elsewhere. Farewell, Uncle Gerry...Godspeed, fair winds and following seas to you. 73/88, Tom Stough, W0UFC Thousand Oaks, CA
