George L. Best, Jr, W4LEW SK George Lewis Best, Jr. November 26, 2021 George Lewis Best, Jr., lost his long battle with COPD and cancer on November 26, 2021. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Kay W Best; daughter, Anne Best Barker of Richmond; son, Lew Best III (Lisa) of Lynchburg; grandsons, Corey Barker, Ryan Barker, Brad Barker (Caroline) of Twentynine Palms, Calf. and George Best; great grandson, Carter Barker; sister, Betty Glascock (Tommy) of Greensboro N.C.; two nieces; and four nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Best and Anne Winston Best. He was a die hard Hokie fan and a Graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute (VPI) as a Cadet Core member as well as an Amateur Ham Radio operator. The family will hold a private memorial services.
