    NORTHAMPTON – Gary F. Vanasse, 51, son of Gerard R. Vanasse of Florence, and the late Nancy (Boyer) Vanasse, passed away August 25, 2017, due to heart complications.

    Gary grew up in Northampton and attended Smith Vocational High School. After high school Gary worked at Berkshire Cable and Charter Communications.
    Gary was an avid CB radio enthusiast; his call sign was K1EBU.
    As the owner of The Amp Works he had a passion for music; playing, listening, and teaching. He was also brilliant at amplifier and instrument repair.
    He loved spicy food, and was an animal lover. He had a fantastic sense of humor. Gary will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

    Besides his father, Gerard, Gary leaves behind a daughter, Heather Vanasse, and a son, Justin Vanasse, and their mother, Karen McDermott, all of Granby.
    He also leaves behind his current wife Karen Vanasse, and her four children, all of Ludlow; his brother and his wife, Jeff and Donna Vanasse of Cummington; and a sister and her husband, Renee and Ronald Grise of Florence.
    Gary also leaves behind a niece and her husband, Diana and Adam Vershon of Chicopee; a nephew and his wife, Jeffrey and Alisha Vanasse of Dalton; and a niece Kerri-Ann Russo of Greenfield. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

    Gary was predeceased by his mother, and grandparents, Wallace and Alice Boyer, and Agnes Vanasse.

    A memorial service will be held on Sept. 23, 2017, at 11 a.m., at the Cornerstone Chapel, 580 Bridge Rd., Florence, MA .

    In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
