Gain of a 4.5' heli 20m monoband mobile antenna?

    It's a hamstick style mobile that is 1.4m (4.5') long with a tuning rod at the top for the 20m band.
    I'm guessing it has about a gain of -10 dBd. Would that be right???

    Maybe as much as -12dB !

    It depends on what the frame of your aircraft is made of and where the antenna is located but -10dbd is probably a good bet.
