This is an intermittent problem that has started to occur more often. Sometimes when unplugging my headset (plugged into the "phones" jack on the front panel) the audio does not resume coming out of the speaker. To get audio out of the speaker I have to "fiddle" with the headphone plug and front panel jack.

I'd like to try a little De Oxit on the contacts in the jack. I am an auto mechanic and would be comfortable taking my 3000 apart to access the jack. What kind of a job is this? Will I just need to take off the front panel, or does the whole radio need to come apart? Wondering if anyone here has had this problem with a 3000 or done this repair. And should I try De Oxit, or just get a new jack from Yaesu? Thanks in advance. de KC9PFH

Is the TX light flashing when this happens?

Thanks Mike! Doesn't look too bad.
