    A while back I found my FTDI USB/serial device (WinKeyer USB) has quit working. I don't use it a lot so not just sure when it quit on me. I think it was just after a Win10 cumulative update but not sure. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the FTDI drivers without complete success. I always get this in the events tab;
    I see some info about it when doing a search but no real definitive answer to the problem.

    So I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and what they did to correct it or if your Google-fu is better than mine and can locate something more than a long and involved list of rather lengthy technical things to try and hope for the best!

    Ok...Ya gotta LOVE Windows!! Turns out it is an error message that is an ERROR!
    I finally found an article that said just to ignore it! Goofy!:rolleyes:
    A com port setting must have got changed inadvertently and this message led me in the wrong direction. Oh well...!

    Be sure to check the FTDI OFFICIAL web site to see if an updated driver is released. FTDI is a FB virtual serial device for Windows OS, MAC OS X and Linux.

    I just got 4 of them off amazon. They certainly do work very well with Win7pro 64 & 32, and linux mint.
    Just finished building a soubdcard interface for my linux laptop. Even have CWTYPE working thru wine so DTR can key my FT757GX
    Sort of glad I chucked win10 out, just when I thought I got rid of useless things they would re-appear
    Its like win10 is part of the Borg collective
    Perhaps a win10 update will fix the error error.
