That was really entertaining. Interesting to think about how FT8 does have its strict timing requirements, which sets a limit on maximum contact rate.

The best one is the one you like to use. I like the easy questions.

Exactly. It's the classic "Ford vs Chevy" question, which will never be answered, but will keep being asked.

Ya, those are flip phones. I kept my flip phone until I couldn't stand it any more. You have to press a "number" button at least once, most of the time 2 or 3 times in order to enter one letter. Morse code at 20-25 WPM will beat it every time.

Now I have an Android and a bluetooth full sized keyboard. I would beat 20-25 WPM morse code now. Easily.

We now have more than a dozen SMS "like" protocols on HF now.

Which is better? Yes, Ford or Chevy. Ginger or Mary-Ann. Coke or Pepsi. Depends what you're looking for. Ease? Below noise floor? Fun of a challenge? Location of the distributor? Red heads or brunettes? Nuanced flavor?

    To each his own.

Freedom to choose is better than a group think.
