I've been running FT8 perfectly on my Mac with the Signalink. The other morning the internet was down. When I went to use FT8 with WSJTX it would not decode, yet the waterfall was FULL.. I checked the clock and it's in perfect synch. When the internet returned so did FT*. I didn't think it used the internet on FT8. Is this normal?? Or is this a MAC thing.?? (I have a Mac but I am NOT a fan..) Any thought?

On my setup internet is not required at all other than for time check and pskreporting.

I don't know any messenger that can work without internet. Try skype, viber or any other. I think it is normal.

Computer clock not accurate enough due to loss of NTP service.

Just wondering ... do you have WSJT-X/Preferences/Reporting/ "PSK Reporter Spotting" enabled? I can't imagine any reason for a reporting error to disable FT8 decoding but one never knows ...

Run FT-8 while camping no internet connection don't even have cell phone service in many areas use a small usb GPS receiver for time sync.

Hmm, it should have kept working.

I bought a USB GPS puck from Amazon and am running NMEATime2 from VisualGPS.net. Less than $50 total to get setup. I'm using it for time sync at home with internet as well as it continues to work while camping without internet.
