I'm I'm a pretty new operator and while I've been fiddling around with CW (copying is hard!) I'm also interested in FT8. I haven MFJ 939 tuner that is CAT controlled and I'd rather not run it in manual but I'd also like to be able to use it with fldigi and WSJT-X while having the tuner connected for automatic control. I get the impression that this is possible but before before I proceed a bit of help for the voices of experience would be much appreciated.

I know that I also need a signal link or the like...right?

Again, any pointers would be very helpful!

I have run an 857D with a LDG YT-100 tuner and shared CAT signals for both tuner and radio control.
The TY-100 allows you to cascade the CAT signals. i.e. plug the tuner into the radio CAT and then hook the computer to the CAT out on the TY-100.
Only requirement is that the computer has to be set to the default baud rate of the YT-100, 4800.
A quick look at the 939 only shows a radio interface.

On the 857 and 897 radios, you can implement a secondary CAT connection via the mic jack and have both CATs active. That precludes use of the mic of course.
