I bought a FT-221 but it is missing the Tone-in plug. Without that plug installed there is no audio. I have the manual and it seems that the plug shorts out pins one and four which connect the audio amp to the speaker. I don't where I could find that 5 pin plug. Could I just short pins 1 and 4 with a wire?

    Thanks for any advice.

A DIN connector is an electrical connector that was originally standardized in the early 1970s by the Deutsches Institut für Normung (DIN), the German national standards organization.
The Circular DIN connectors have been found on Audio and Amateur Radio equipment since the 1970s and covered under the DIN 41524 standard.

ANY Audio or Electronics Distributor (Radio Shack retail stores) have sold these common DIN circular connectors since the 1970s. DIRT CHEAP. Scrounge for FREE.
