    Hi !
I corrected that problem with GPS, now it's connected with logbook by new library. This library works vith GPS-driver (for WM5 and higher) which allows to use GPS-device by several programms simultaneously.
Also there were enlarged buttons and drop-down lists for better using on finger-oriented PDA.
Internal callbooks EQFC and RIC were updated with last minute information.
CW-screen was repositioned too for better appearance.
Note that block [RSTSend] in log_ini.txt has now another parameter string, that turns contest mode on and off.
Manual updated. Hope you'll like it :) Or send a copy to me after you correct in it my grammatical errors :) - logbook for PDA - logbook for desktop - logbook manual

    Thank you, Eric !
I beg your pardon for delays with new versions - too many another things need to care about :^)
It appears to be that there 2 kinds of operating system support for GPS-modules in WinMobile PDA. Previous versions of logbook work well with older operating systems (or the problem in .NET ?), but don't work at all with modern OS (and .NET) like WM 6.0 or 6.5 - I don't know why. So I made this last version you have here - it works with 6.0 and 6.5, but don't work with WM2003...
Well, now I've made a version that supports both variants - you can choose in Option screen (or set in ini-file) what kind of GPS-support you have in your device. And tests show that it seems to be a working version :) So I'll try to put it here very soon.
By the way, I spend my time to make something similar for Android, the current version is quite pre-alfa ^) You can find it , L3_2.rar
But it has almost no functions at all and works slow - can be used only for several hundreds of QSO... I'm trying to make it more suitable for us.

    Collected all last improvements
    1) RFF was added to database
    2) two modes available on the screen of GPS (1 for older PDA, 2 for newer ones) - PDA version - desktop version - russian manual - english manual

Please note that last month my computer lost it's power supply :) so I had to transfer all my soft and information to another computer, install everything there... so I'm not 100% sure that I compiled this version without errors. If you find any - tell me !
I hope that this version is made well at last :)

By the way, Eric, would you help to make a french.txt file as a direct translation of english.txt file ?
We'd have a french version of this logbook then, right ?

Hi ! Thanks and my best wishes to everybody too ! :^)
    Eric, my e-mail is
The idea for localization was that I put all messages and screen labels in 1 file (the name is "english.txt").
Then we can make another file (for example, "french.txt") with translated messages and labels - and put it into folder of logbook.
Then we just need to tell the logbook to use this "french.txt" file, right ?
    It's easy - when logbook started, it reads the ini-file - "log_ini.txt"
In this file there is a block

You see, to use "french.txt" just change "english" to "french" here.

    Good news :)

Version 3.9.5 - Eric F0GRC translated the file with messages, so we have 3 languages now - russian, english (default) and french !
Just change the line "english.txt" to "french.txt" in the block [Language], file log_ini.txt
Also you can set the size of drop-down lists from normal to double and vice versa by the checkbox nfmed "BB" on the screen "Options"
This setting will be saved in log_ini.txt, block [BigKbd], line "bc=..."
Values here can be 1 or 2. - logbook for PDA - logbook for desktop - russian manual - english manual

    Thanks, Eric !!!

A very little last time correction :) My testers found a small problem - when operator set a non-finger mode for all drop-down lists - one drop-down list didn't act as operator wanted... my fault, of course. Here you can get corrected exe-files to replace those that you donwloaded from

How about web based log that keeps your last 500 contacts on the phone and sync ups with the web base service (Cloud) when every you are in range of a free Wi-fi connection like at home? My Office on my windows phone 7.5 does this.

Maybe let the app decide or an option on the number contact to keep on the phone depending if you have a micro SD card install or not. Thinking about expanding my phone with a 65 gig card to hold more data.

I wrote a modern library in C# .net 4.0 for QRZ lookup that can be use with Windows Phone, Web APP, or desktop. Thinking about thinking about writing basic app for Callsign lookup and post that on Zune for Windows Phone and Windows 8. All you do is enter your QRZ info and the app will query qrz for you and display the results.

    KJ4YQK, hi !
Thanks for the answer ! QRZ lookup is interesting thing, I would try to insert it into my log, if you agree :)
Now I spend more time to a new project - hte logbook for blind hams. The idea was from UA9LP, Serge.
Certainly I continue my work on this log (for PDA) too, you see it in this thread :)
But that log for blindmen - it needs a lot of efforts too. For example, now I'm trying to translate my Russian manual to english - it's not that easy, and the result don't promise to be quite good because of my pure english :) So anybody's help to correct all errors would be very useful. By the way, Eric agreed to help me to translate it to french, thanks !
So I hope, it will help some people
