I have just finished building one of these EL90 glowbugs, based on the plans shown. I've changed the coils and used what I had to hand, will take a photo tonight. It's not overly pretty but I can experiment to my hearts content - the joys of bread board construction! Just on the look out for 40 meter xtals now and I'll try it on the club antenna. My RX is another valve beast - in this case a wartime R.107. I guess this equates to your typical '50s set up? Military surplus reciever and a TX cobbled out of what ever you could get your hands on. With an RAF 'D' key in the shack I plan to get some good brass-pounding practise on the novice section of 40 meters. These posts do inspire people from time to time! Kind regards to all, Robert B / M6GLD Edit: picture of the 'Ugly Bug', with a coil instead of trimmer. To the right and just visible is a 12K5 valved TX 'Hollow Pixie'
