The Fair Lawn (NJ) Amateur Radio Club will host its first video “Kawfee Tawk” program to replace its long-running and highly successful monthly in-person Speaker Series during the coronavirus crisis.

The first program will be held on Friday, May 8th beginning a 7:30 PM EDT.

The topic will be “Six Meter Propagation At The Bottom Of The Solar Cycle” and will be presented by Bob Antoniuk N2SU, a FLARC member. Bob will talk about propagation characteristics and what to listen for, band plans, operating techniques, antennas and how the activity on the band has changed and evolved in the last 50 years. The program will last about an hour and will include an opportunity for questions and comments.

Bob, first licensed in 1971, is an avid DX’er and is the holder of all the major awards including 6BDXCC (30m), DXCC Challenge, WAS, WAC, WAZ, VUCC (6m). He notes that this was accomplished entirely using wire antennas. He began VHF contesting back to 1973 with the Knight Raiders VHF Club and 10-70 in the 2000’s.

So join FLARC on May 8th and see how the Magic Band can be more understandable for you.
