    Spaceweather.com is reporting that the first X-Flare in four years occurred this morning, causing radio blackouts over the. Atlantic.

    Yes, that was incredible!!! I was on 40 meters and it was like an off switch, total RF blackout.

    It Knocked our Net off of 3.868 the Event started about 10:20 EDT.

    Not all the bands were totally dead

    Interesting. I wondered why stations on 30m that are usually quite strong here were buried in the noise. The RBN was reporting weak signals, too.
