I've tried that logic on HF. Parking near, but not close enough to interfere with the FT watering holes and trying different digital modes, the thought being it'll wake someone up who is staring at a waterfall.

    It's never worked. ;)

This past weekend I attempted to participate in the Digifest contest using 75 Baud RTTY. I copied exactly two other stations running it, and only made a single contact. Apparently the contest or 75 baud RTTY had no attraction for the RTTY regulars.

However...while I was calling CQ on 14.088 MHz, I had no less than four stations running FT8 attempt to call or answer my 75 Baud RTTY signal.

Tuff call concerning using RTTY on the accepted .174 freq.
As one poster pointed out, this is Es season; I would sure hate to be attempting a rare grid and hearing
rtty on the accepted FT8 call freq.
Personally, many people use waterfall displays; maybe work rtty 10khz higher or lower; if spotted I am confident
someone will respond if interested in a 2M rtty contact.
