    Here's the filthiest bug ever seen. See 'before' and 'after' photos.

    The first thing I did was blow out the dead bugs and insect exoskeletons. I don't think anything was alive on it. Hopefully.

    After cleanup, it actually handles. nicely.

    Nickel plated wide base. Somebody paid and extra couple bucks for the nickel plated base, which was a big chunk out of a days' pay back then.

    It was obtained from a lady who was selling off her grandfather's and great grandfather's telegraph stuff. They had both worked for the Union Pacific RR. The attached photo was what I had to purchase to get the bug (see far left). The rest of the stuff went out the door, in the trash or to the Goodwill store.
